At 00:27 on August 28, 2024, as starlight faded into dawn, a firm command of “Open the LNG Product Valve” echoed from the central control room, marking the official production of the Yi 206 Well LNG Skid-Mounted Recovery Station.
The project is located in Shangzhou Town, Xuzhou District, Yibin City, Sichuan Province, with a daily natural gas processing capacity of 150,000 Sm3 per day. In this project, the wellhead gas first enters a three-phase separator to remove formation water. The separated gas then undergoes a series of purification steps—filtration, decarbonization, mercury removal, dehydration, and heavy hydrocarbon removal—to meet regulated standards. The purified gas then enters a cold box for cryogenic liquefaction to produce LNG, which is finally depressurized and loaded into LNG tank trucks for transportation.
Reflection on the project journey, from the start of construction on September 2, 2022, to the completion of the main installation on April 26, 2023, every step was a testament to the hard work and dedication of our builders. However, due to wellhead constraints, the plant was placed under maintenance for nearly a year. But challenges did not hinder our resolve. On July 6, 2024, we re-entered the site to complete final construction and initiate compressor lubrication circulation. Following thorough preparations, the project successfully passed the Pre-Startup Safety Review (PSSR) by Chenghua Chemical Plant on August 26, and, under the close collaboration among the Project Department, Engineering Department, Design Department and Technical Management Center, the first successful gas feeding and trial run was achieved on August 28.
As Sepmem's fourth wellhead stranded gas recovery project in Southwest China, the successful commissioning of the Yi206 plant not only showcases our technical strength but also serves as the highest recognition of the dedication and wisdom of all participants.
During the construction and commissioning phases, the team endured torrential rains, floods, road collapses, extreme heat, and threats from venomous insects and snakes. The long idle period of the equipment also posed frequent unexpected challenges. Yet, every member of the on-site team responded with unwavering courage and commitment, embodying Sepmem's sense of responsibility and perseverance.
Looking ahead, we will continue to push boundaries, pursue excellence, and contribute even more to Sepmem's sustained development.
