On April 8, 2024, amid lingering winter chill and snow-capped mountains, Tudong Stranded Gas Recovery Station, a project of Chengdu Sepmem Technology Co., Ltd., successfully completed the first gas feeding and trial operation.
Tudong 201 Well is located in Cedaya Township, Luntai County, Bayingolin Mongol Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. After natural gas is produced from the well, it undergoes gas-liquid separation. The liquid phase is sent to a flash tank, then stored in an oil tank and transported by tank trucks. The gas phase goes through further separation, dehydration, and compression before being filled into CNG trailers for transport. The recovery station is mainly equipped with two front-end dehydration skids, each with a daily processing capacity of 50,000 m³, feeding into a compressor unit with the same rated exhaust capacity. Feeding gas from the well is first processed through a gas-liquid separator for filtration, then directed to a molecular sieve dehydration unit to meet the GB17820 Class II natural gas standard. The dehydrated gas then passes through the first-stage cylinder of the compressor for pressurization, is cooled and filtered, then further pressurized in the second-stage cylinder. After another round of cooling, the gas undergoes oil and water removal, filtration, flow metering, and is finally filled into CNG trailers via CNG dispenser columns for external delivery.
Construction of the station began on January 16, 2023. Process equipment was installed on February 18, 2024, and mechanical completion was achieved on March 15, 2024. The project passed the “Three Inspections and Four Determinations” led by Tarim Oilfield’s Lunnan Oil & Gas Management Zone. With close collaboration among the Project Department, Engineering Department, Design Department and Technical Management Center, the station successfully commenced its trial operation on April 8.
As Sepmem's first wellhead stranded gas recovery project using CNG technology, the successful commissioning of the Tudong 201 Well Recovery Station marks a milestone for the company. From planning to execution and now trial operation, the project overcame harsh geographical conditions and extreme weather challenges. The on-site team braved the cold, met tight deadlines, ensured quality construction, and upheld safety—all demonstrating the Sepmem team's dedication and sense of responsibility.
